Allyson Jacobs counsels clients on a wide range of family law matters, with a focus on divorce cases, pre- and post-nuptial agreements and complex financial analysis.
Because Allyson understands how difficult it can be for clients to file for divorce, especially if there are children involved, she works diligently to find the best possible resolution for her clients, prioritizing their overall wellbeing as she guides them through the legal process.
Allyson first joined DWK as a law clerk in 2019, assisting clients with financial affidavits and handling discovery, research and writing motions. She is well-versed in multiple areas of family law, including marital property and parental responsibilities. She also previously clerked for a personal injury firm.
Allyson is a volunteer advocate for the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Cook County, an organization that serves children within the child-welfare system who have experienced abuse and neglect.
In law school, Allyson interned at the Chicago-Kent Family Law Clinic. She was president of the Child and Family Law Society. During undergrad, Allyson majored in Spanish with a minor in Criminal Justice. She also interned for the Wisconsin State Public Defender, conducting client interviews and home visits in English and Spanish, and preparing written investigative reports.
