A compassionate and trustworthy listener, Alexa Goutos is committed to serving her family law clients as their needs and questions arise, even when that means taking time on evenings and weekends to talk through an issue or concern.

Alexa handles all aspects of complex family law matters and litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting research, drafting both objective and persuasive legal memoranda, and preparing for hearings and trials.

Alexa joined the firm in 2009 as a law clerk while working on her Juris Doctor degree from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago. She became an attorney with the firm upon her graduation in 2011.

Having devoted her practice exclusively to family law matters, she has dedicated herself to supporting clients through difficult times and helping them make informed decisions about their futures. While she would never claim to have the solution to an intractable problem, she believes that one of an attorney’s foremost responsibilities is helping a client understand the breadth of his or her choices, for better or worse, so that the client may at least enjoy confidence in having obtained the best result possible.

In the end, she says, her goal is to help clients achieve legal resolutions, which also enable them to find personal resolutions. Her perspective on the law, and its strengths and limitations, was formed by both her formal education and her practical experiences in international and local justice systems.

While in law school, Alexa traveled to Dublin, Ireland for study abroad program, focused on trial advocacy, and was named an Honorable Student at the King’s Inns. As an undergraduate, Alexa interned with the Cook County State’s Attorney, where she worked in the Delinquency, Abuse and Neglect departments.
