Undoubtedly believing that clients who seek his legal assistance often need more than a skilled lawyer, Jason provides customized attention to his clients and is accessible. Jason has experience litigating high profile and high net worth divorce cases and complex child-related matters. He represents clients in all aspects of divorce and family law, including but not limited to divorce and parentage proceedings involving child support, maintenance, property division, enforcement proceedings, prenuptial/postnuptial agreements, orders of protection, DCFS appeals, adoptions, and guardianship of minors. Jason believes the practice of divorce and family law requires a practical, results-based approach, coupled with direct and candid honesty. In addition to direct representation of clients, Jason also serves as a mediator, facilitating a structured resolution process resulting in a thoughtfully crafted agreement.
Jason asks every client what matters to them most and attempts to reach clients’ goals with the least amount of emotional and financial strain. Having lived through three divorces as a child, he prides himself on allowing clients to set the tone for their divorce.
During graduate school, Jason was Co-Editor-in-Chief of Praxis, the student-run academic journal in the School of Social Work and a counselor to at-risk youth in Chicago. Having previously provided psychotherapeutic services to disadvantaged youth, Jason takes special interest in divorce and family law cases involving mental health challenges. Jason’s psychological graduate research has been presented and published in national academic conferences and tier one academic journals.
During law school, Jason served as a judicial extern in the Circuit Court of Cook County – Domestic Relations Division as well as a Court Appointed Special Advocate in the Child Protection Division, advocating for the best interests of youth in foster care, and as a law clerk at two prestigious divorce and family law firms.
Beyond this, Jason is a graduate of the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Family Law Fellowship program and has presented at several ABA Section of Family Law conferences around the nation. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Illinois-Chicago School of Law and has been extended invitations to serve as faculty on various divorce and family law topics for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (IICLE). Additionally, Jason has served as a Guardian ad Litem and Child Representative in contested divorce and parentage proceedings.
