Megan Gieseler

Summary

With more than a decade of experience across multiple areas of practice, Megan Gieseler brings a well-rounded perspective to helping her clients navigate complex and nuanced issues. 

Megan is a zealous advocate and a skilled negotiator. She focuses her practice on complicated dissolution matters, including contested parental responsibility (formerly known as custody) cases, orders of protection/DCFS, guardianship, business evaluations and complex financial issues. An accomplished trial lawyer and litigator, Megan is always careful to consider the best interests of her clients and tailors her legal strategy to produce effective results based on their needs and priorities, either through negotiation, or judicial intervention, when necessary. 

Megan is also a Guardian ad Litem in DuPage County, where she is routinely appointed by family law judges to investigate the best interests of the children in contested divorces and parentage cases. She brings this experience to bear in representing her own clients in contested parental responsibility cases when a GAL is appointed. 

Before joining DWK, Megan worked at a suburban general practice firm, where she focused her work on family law and immigration law. Megan continues to practice as an immigration attorney, advocating for people whose identities or beliefs make them vulnerable in their countries of origin. 

In addition to the above, Megan is a member of multiple DuPage County Bar Associations. She currently serves as the First Vice President of the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers. 

Megan is actively involved in serving the community, offering pro bono legal services at the DuPage County Help Desk, acting as a pro bono advocate and GAL, and assisting with toy drives for families in need. An avid lover of dogs in general, and a black lab named Lulu in particular, Megan also volunteers in animal adoption drives.
