On March 16 through 17, 2024, the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) presented its annual High School Mock Trial at the University of Illinois, Springfield. ISBA invited high school students throughout the State to participate, and fifty high schools participated in the invitational this year DWK Partner Theresa Lechner, Associate Attorney Michele Moreshi, and Paralegal Leslie Padilla served as jurors/evaluators at this year’s event. The mock trial allows high school students to learn what it is like to prepare and present a legal case before an Illinois court. College Preparatory School of America, Lombard, won first place. Stevenson High School, Lincolnshire, won second place. Maine South High School, Park Ridge, won third place.
